Hi, I'm Lucas
I'm German and American – and an Army brat. I've lived most of my life right here in the KMC, so I know both sides: life on base and the German towns around it. Since 2019 I've been photographing weddings, events, families and portraits all around Kaiserslautern and Ramstein.
I keep shoots relaxed. No stiff posing – I'd rather catch your kids laughing and the little moments in between. That way you get real photos of your time in Germany that you'll still love long after your PCS.
And the name? JonesBeck is my last name plus my grandfather's. He always hoped his name would live on – now it's part of every photo I take.
More about meCastles & more, right around the corner
The castles are the highlight for most KMC families. Here are my favorites with the drive from Kaiserslautern – I'll help you pick the one that fits you.

Good to know
Do you speak English?
Yes – fluently. We can plan everything by email, message or phone in English, and I'll direct the shoot in English too.
Can you photograph on base?
Yes. For ceremonies or events on Ramstein, Vogelweh, Landstuhl or Sembach you (or your unit) sponsor a visitor pass for me. Just let me know early and I'll send you the details you need.
Do I need a VAT form?
No. As a small business (Kleinunternehmer, § 19 UStG) I don't charge VAT at all – the price you see is the final price.
What if it rains?
Then we simply pick a new date – free of charge. For outdoor sessions I keep an eye on the forecast and we decide together a day before. Light clouds are actually great for photos!
How do I pay?
You'll get an invoice in English. Bank transfer in euros is preferred – PayPal or cash are possible too.
When should we book before our PCS?
Ideally 4–8 weeks before your move. Summer is PCS season and books up fast – if your date is fixed, reach out as early as you can.
When should we book holiday card photos?
Ideally by mid-November: your gallery is ready within about two weeks – in time to order your holiday cards. Weekends in November and December fill up fast.
Can we take our photos at a castle?
Yes – castles are the favorite backdrop for KMC families. My go-to spots: Burg Nanstein above Landstuhl (≈ 20 min from Kaiserslautern), Burg Lichtenberg near Kusel (≈ 40 min) and Burg Berwartstein in the southern Palatinate (≈ 1 hour, small travel fee). I know the best spots and times for beautiful light and few visitors.
Do we get all the photos?
You get all the good ones – professionally edited, in full resolution, with a print release. No per-image fees, ever.
Do you travel outside the KMC?
Yes – Heidelberg, the Wine Route, Trier or anywhere in Germany. Within 50 km travel is included; beyond that I'll quote a small travel fee.
Before you leave Germany – let's capture it
Send me a quick message with your date and idea. I'll get back to you personally within 12–48 hours.
